James D’Aconti, LCSW, Qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Teacher
You have the capacity to change the way you live your life. You can learn to live in a more liberated way. You can learn to navigate difficult emotions such as anxiety or depression. You can learn to build more meaningful relationships or communicate more effectively. You can experience more acceptance and gratitude. I believe we can change and grow every day if we are open to it. My hope is that I can help you learn to live in a new way, if that is your goal. Maybe your goal is to reduce depression, stress or anxiety. Maybe your goal is to create more meaningful relationships, be more confident or be happy. Your goal is my goal.
I earned my qualification as a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher through the University of Massachusetts. I teach MBSR at schools and corporations around Long Island, as well as privately at my Meditation Center, The Mindful Place. My therapeutic approach is mindfulness informed, and is also psycho-dynamic and cognitive behavioral in nature. You can read more about my formal training in mindfulness by reading my about me page

Your insurance company may work with “out-of-network” providers. If this is the case, you might be able to get reimbursed for a portion of the payment for my services. If you are interested in finding out more, please call your health insurance provider to verify if you are entitled to out-of-network benefits. Please consider asking the following questions:
- Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health services?
- Is there a deductible that needs to be met before I can start getting reimbursed?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- How do I submit out-of-network benefits claims?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician?
If you insurance company requires receipts to be submitted, I am happy to provide you with them.
