About the mindfulness podcast.
My intention for this podcast is to encourage wonder. I guess that’s why I named it, “Wondering Together”.
The question, “what is mindfulness?” is deep and complicated. It’s sort of like asking, “what is the human mind?” Scholars could argue for many lifetimes the different interpretations of the human mind.
Think for a moment: where do you point when someone asks you to point to your mind? In a similar way, it can be difficult to know where to point when someone asks, “what is mindfulness?”
There are philosophers, spiritual teachers, and scholars who have written endless research articles on the topic. The Wondering Together mindfulness podcast explores this question through similar interpretations.
The power of non-judgment.
Jon Kabat Zinn defines mindfulness as a means of paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally. Shinzen Young also usually defines mindfulness more generally with some variation of “being in the present moment, non-judgmentally”.
This mindfulness podcast is similarly designed to help you bring more compassion to yourself, so you can work towards liberation from self-judgment.
Being in the present moment.
It’s as simple as seeing through your eyes, tasting with your tongue, touching with your fingers, feeling gravity hold you to the earth, hearing birds chirp, and drinking a glass of water. It’s as simple as just being with your experience as it’s happening. Try it now for a moment.
Experience your life – as it happens.
The Wondering Together mindfulness podcast will also work towards helping you tune in more deeply to your experience, as it unfolds in your life. In other words: to help you be with your life more deeply, as it’s happening.
